Learning Reviews

Our open door policy allows parents to call at school at any time to pass messages to their children or to their child’s teacher. We also provide more formal opportunities for parents and teachers to meet.
There will be one, parent-teacher meeting per term, the meetings last for 10 minutes. If parents want to speak to staff outside this time it is protocol to send the teacher a note and they will send back a mutually convenient time to meet with you, usually close to after school time.
Autumn Term: November- interviews with all parents to discuss how their child has settled into the new school year. INFORMATION REGARDING A NEW SYSTEM FOR LEARNING REVIEWS IS AVAILABLE BELOW
Spring Term: February - individual interviews for parents of children in EYFS - Year 6.
March - Pre-SATs Reviews for Year 6
Summer Term: More open discussions to discuss annual reports and view ’the school in action’, Assessment Results and progress with targets.
The earlier interview allows parents to talk to their child’s teacher and especially to pass on to the teacher important information about the child. The opportunity to meet at the end of the year allows teachers to summarise the child’s progress and achievements during the year. Parents receive a written report at this time, which can form a basis for discussion.
