School Meals

The school is committed to encouraging a healthy lifestyle. The school provides freshly prepared meals. Children stay for school dinners or bring packed lunches. These children are supervised during the lunch hour by Mealtime Assistants. It is essential that children co-operate with these members of staff by behaving sensibly and quietly during the dinnertime.
We operate a "pay on the day" system however, we no longer accept cash payments as we now use ParentPay for all school lunches and snacks. If you have not received any information regarding ParentPay, please contact the school office or we have a ParentPay page on the left tabs you can view.
The dinner and snack register is taken every morning in class. This is where your child will inform the teacher if they are having a school dinner and what they would like for snack.
If your account is arrears by £11.50 we will send a text out asking you to top your account up.
ALL INFANTS are eligible for a universal free school meal. This will be regardless of income or existing entitlement.
If you wish for your child to take up the offer of a free school meal, you must opt-in or opt-out by filling out the form below and returning it to school.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT WE HAVE SERIOUS NUT ALLERGIES IN SCHOOL.
WHEN PROVIDING YOUR CHILD WITH A HEALTHY SNACK OR PACKED LUNCH THIS MUST NOT INCLUDE NUTS OF ANY FORM INCLUDING NUTELLA, PEANUT BUTTER, PESTO ETC THANK YOU FOR YOUR CO-OPERATION IN THIS MATTER.

School Meals & Snacks from September 2020
As usual, the children in all year groups can bring in a packed lunch from home on any day that they choose. The school kitchen will be offering a hybrid system of hot school meals & school packed lunches. We are able to facilitate 4 year groups eating in the hall each day, the other 3 year groups will eat in their classrooms. Therefore we will operate a 2 week rotation for children eating in the hall
Starting with week one on Wednesday 2nd Sept 2020 | Year groups in the hall | Year groups in the classroom | |
Week 1 |
EYFS, Y2, Y3 & Y6 |
Y1, Y4 & Y5 |
|
Week 2 |
EYFS, Y1, Y4 & Y5 |
Y2, Y3 & Y6 |
Children will only be able to order a hot meal from the school kitchen when they are eating in the hall and children will only be able to order a packed lunch from the school kitchen when they are eating in their classroom. As detailed above, children can continue to bring in a packed lunch from home on any day that they choose whether they are eating in the hall or their classroom.
Due to the increased demands of this blended catering offer we will no longer be able to offer mid-morning snacks prepared by the school kitchen. In September children who require a morning snack must bring a healthy nut-free snack from home.
